Learning to Run

I want to introduce myself to everyone. Hi, my name is Tracey and I am a runner. I only started running long distance almost two years ago. When I was young, I ran sprints only, and only in elementary school. I hated the mile, and never dreamed I would one day be training for a MARATHON.

I took up running two years ago, to lose weight while doing Jenny Craig. I signed up for a 5K, and learned how to run by doing a walk to run program. I did well at my first 5K and signed up for another. My distance just kept increasing since then. Two 5K's, a 5 Miler, a 10 miler, and I just completed my first 1/2 Marathon in March.
Starting in June, I will train over the summer for the Baltimore Marathon in October. I am looking forward to training and cross training by swimming, and am trying to decide if I can actually set a time of 4:30 for this 1st Marathon, or if I should just concentrate on finishing in one piece. :)

Today, I ran 7.4 miles, just to maintain until training time. I am averaging about 15-22 miles per week right now, but will start upping that with my training schedule starting June 25th.
Feel free to email me with any questions or suggestions you may have out there.
I look forward to hearing from many of you.
Take care and to quote Eric Liddel " Just run and feel His pleasure"
